Immaculate Heart of Virgin Mary

The image of the Virgin Mary with the Heart that shines refers to the inner world of the Virgin Mary, her virginal love for the Holy Father, the immense maternal love for her son Jesus, her joys and sorrows, her virtues and her love for the people. The heart is depicted wrapped in seven roses to signify the seven names of the Virgin Mary who in Latin is referred to as Maria Dolorosa. Our Lady of Sorrows, Our Lady of Dolours, Sorrowful Mother, Our Mother of Sorrows, Our Lady of Piety, Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows or Our Lady of the Seven Dolours, are all names that indicate her inconsolable grief.
